The US Midterm elections are less than two months away, and are surely to be the most closely watched of its kind in living history. Democrats are hoping for a “blue wave,” while Republicans are looking to hold on to the majorities they enjoy in the Senate and House of Representatives. What are the implications of either outcome, and how are the major races polling? Will President Trump and his party’s majority be vindicated for their first two years of policies, or is there change in the air?
Dr. Christoph von Marschall will address these question and others with his speech titled Trump and the Midterms. Since 1991, our speaker has been reporting for Der Tagesspiegel, currently as Diplomatic Correspondent, and served many years as the lone German newspaper correspondent in the White House Press Corps. He is the author of several books, including: Barack Obama. Der schwarze Kennedy, Michelle Obama. Ein amerikanischer Traum, and most recently Wir verstehen die Welt nicht mehr: Deutschlands Entfremdung von seinen Freunden. He also writes for Cicero and The Atlantic Times.
You find out more about Mr. von Marschall here.
His speech in English will be accompanied by a three-course meal and fine wine. Register please by using the registration link to Eventbrite.
Note to MEMBERS: You can also follow the invitation email you have received and register by email and bank-transfer. Members can avoid the Eventbrite-Fees that way.
Looking forward to seeing you at this most interesting event!
