We are proud to announce that, from humble beginnings to running Germany’s top-rated hotel, American Club member Tashi Takang will be this year’s Annual General Meeting guest speaker.
Tashi has graciously hosted The American Club of Hamburg for innumerable events over many years. He is much more than just a successful manager, but a truly dedicated professional who treats his staff and guests with the highest regard, solely focused on their well-being.
Come to hear the Park Hyatt’s award-winning General Manager reflect— in his first ever address to an audience — on his fascinating past and inspiring outlook on life.
The German trade surplus is often criticized by international trade partners, also by the United States of America. Is the imbalance only a problem for German trade partners? Or does it harm the German economy as well? What are the reasons for export surplus? We are going to discuss this with Professor Wade Jacoby, Professor of Political Science at Brigham Young University. He will give a speech on the controversial topic of trade surplus or “Surplus Germany” from an American perspective.

The event will be moderated by Eveline Metzen, General Manager of the American Chamber of Commerce in Germany.

This event is organized by the Consulate General of the United States of America in Hamburg, the Handelskammer Hamburg, the American Chamber of Commerce and the American Club of Hamburg.
