Perryworld: A book and a document of human history.

Perry Kretz visited pretty much any crisis region in the world for decades – as a war photographer. A book presentation and review.

Perry Kretz is a German-American hybrid and has seen a lot in is life: he migrated to the US from Köln in 1950 to study journalism in New York.. He became a US citizen, to join the Army and fight in the Korean war. He worked for the New York Post and the news agency Keystone – since 1969 also for the STERN in Hamburg. Mostly, he covered crisis regions, wars and civil wars everywhere on this planet.

Donald Schneider, former Art Director of STERN, has worked with Perry Kretz for years to finish a book with his pictures, a treasure of human history: Perryworld.

You can find more info about the book (we will have some at site for purchase) here:

PERRY KRETZ – PERRYWORLD

Unfortunately, Perry Kretz´ health does not allow him to speak, but we have the pleasure to have Hans-Hermann Klare, author, reporter and former head of the Auslandsressort of the STERN, speaking to us. Mr. Klare has worked with Perry Kretz for many years and shares many of the experiences, and will give an insight into Perrys work and a view on the many conflicts captured.

After the official portion of the event, we gather for discussion and exchange with finger-foods and drinks.
