We were guided by knowledgeable art historians at the exhibition Amerikana!
It was extremely personal for me… Walt Disney was my grandmother’s friend, and the other three seminal figures studied at my parent’s art school in New York: Norman Rockwell was one of my Father’s favorite artists (the curator actually managed to get all 323 covers of the Saturday Evening Post into the show), Jackson Pollock was one of my mother’s favorites and topped off by Andy Warhol, breathtaking!
We were also thrilled Consul General Darion Akins was able to attend, and thankful to Dr. Hoffmann for enabling this event to take place.
Further thanks for the initiative by Evelyn Kritzokat, and to Kathrin Baumstark for curating this wonderful collection of major pieces from Walt Disney, Norman Rockefeller, Jackson Pollock and Andy Warhol. More pics to follow…
