A German-American Love-Story: The Harmonica

Herbert Quelle plays the Harmonica

Herbert Quelle, former Consul General of Germany to the 13 States in the mid-western USA, is also a Harmonica-aficionado. Few know that almost 300 million Harmonicas have been exported from Germany to the US and that while the instrument was invented in Germany, it was the foundation for whole new musical styles in the US, like the Blues. Herbert Quelle joined the American Club of Hamburg for an hour to share the history behind this German-American Love-Story with us.
