What a night! US Consul General Rick Yoneoka hosted the American Club today at the “little White House by the Alster” for a Dinner Speech of Tagesthemen-Anchor Ingo Zamperoni – and some 120 Members of the Club and valued Guests came.
Zamperoni, who was US correspondent before for ARD and wrote two books about the US, spoke about the (political) situation in the US and its perception – outlining distinct differences, most importantly that the perception in Europe is more based on international topics, while in the US people look at national topics at their door-step.
Consul General Yoneoka underlined the importance of these type of events and the American Club – to give people perspective on matters and with it to strenghen the friendship between Germany and the US.
