Michael Werz is a renowned Expert in International (Security) Policy and works as a Senior Fellow at the Center for American Progress in Washington D.C.
He joined the American Club of Hamburg on February 23, 2022 – when tensions were mounting but still before the Russian attack on neighboring Ukraine.
While the session was meant to cover the differences in policy and examine the causes, the Ukraine Situation has overshadowed this session.
Still, Michael Werz was able to deliver valuable insights into US policy challenges ahead of Bidens State of the Union address as well as in dealing with the war in Ukraine – and also giving food for thought for why there is such a visibly different approach in Berlin and Washington towards international policy.
